relays

What is a relay and how does it work?

A relay is an electromechanical device: a mechanism that is actuated by electric current. A relay can be compared to a switch with the difference that, instead of being operated manually, it is controlled automatically via a special circuit.

Re.val.co International located in Rho, province of Milan, manufactures different types of relays, suitable for all types of use in both civil and industrial environments.

Single-phase Voltage Relays

Single-phase voltage relays are normally used for the protection of electrical equipment and motors from overvoltage and undervoltage.

  • Power switching: normal / emergency.
  • They control their own supply voltage (TRMS measurement).
  • Selection of operating mode via rotary knob.
  • Voltage measurement accuracy < 1%.
  • Relay status is indicated by LED.
  • Size: 1 DIN MODULE

In most cases, the automation board employs programmable controllers (PLCs) complete with management and supervision software specially designed and implemented by in-house programmers.

Voltage Relays
Three-phase

– Three-phase voltage relays are normally used for controlling the connection of mobile equipment, for the protection of persons and material against the consequences of running backwards and provide protection against the risk of a driving load (phase failure);

  • Power switching: Normal / Emergency;
  • Controls own supply voltage (TRMS measurement);
  • Selection of operating mode via rotary knob;
  • Voltage measurement accuracy <1%;
  • Relay status is indicated by LED;
  • Size: 1 DIN MODULE

Timing relays
Single function

Single-function timing relays are suitable for applications where the function and time requirements are known.

  • Single-function relays with the possibility of setting the time via a potentiometer;

Choice of 2 functions: :
A: ON delay;
B: OFF delay;

  • Time scale 0.1s
  • 10 days divided into 10 intervals;
  • Relay status is indicated by LED;
  • 1 MODULE, DIN rail mounting.

Multifunction Timing Relays

Multifunctional timer relays can be used for electrical appliances, control of lights, heating, motors, pumps and fans (10 functions, 10 time slots, multi-voltage).

10 functions:

  • 5 time-controlled functions controlled by the supply voltage;
  • 4 time control functions driven by the control input;
  • 1 blocking relay function;

  • Time scale 0.1s

Dual Timing Relays

Double timer relays are used for gradual switching of high powers, prevents current shocks

  • time scale 0.1s – 10 days divided into 10 intervals;
  • The two relays can be set separately;
  • Relay status is indicated by LED;
  • 1 MODULE, DIN rail mounting.

Asymmetrical Cycle Relays

  • 2 time functions:
    *Cycle starting with pulse
    *Cycle starting with pause;
  • The function is selected by an external jumper on terminals S-A1;
  • time scale 0.1s – 10 days divided into 10 intervals;
  • Relay status is indicated by LED;
  • 1 MODULE, DIN rail mounting.

Holding relays

Push-button-controlled, multi-position relay capable of replacing 3-way switches or cross switches by control via push-buttons (unlimited numbers, connected in parallel by 2 wires). Installation becomes more transparent and quicker;

  • Relay status is indicated by LED;
  • 1 MODULE, DIN rail mounting.

Current monitoring relay

  • Used to monitor the heating of switches, cables, consumption of single-phase motors and indicates current flow.
  • Adjustable delay from 0.5 to 10s to eliminate short current peaks.
  • Choice of 6 ranges: AC 0.05-0.5A; AC 0.1-1A; AC 0.2-2A; AC 0.5-5A; AC 0.8-8A; AC 1.6-16A.
  • Possibility for reading from current transformer
  • Restart status indicated by LED.
  • 1 MODULE, DIN rail mounting.

Level Control Relay

  • Designed for level monitoring in wells, reservoirs, tanks, ….

The following configurations can be chosen in a device:

  • 2-level control mode;
  • 1-level control mode;
  • Choice of PUMP ON, PUMP OFF function.
  • Adjustable delay time on the output (0.1 – 10 s).
  • Sensitivity adjustable by potentiometer (5-100kΩ).
  • Galvanically separated AC / DC 24-240V power supply.
  • Relay status is indicated by LED.
  • 1 MODULE, DIN rail mounting.

Voltage Protection
